EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Electric announced the kickoff of its 15th annual Summer College Internship Program and the relaunch of its High School Internship Program.
The company welcomed 28 students to the program, giving them hands-on experience across 24 departments in the company.
The Summer College Internship program consists of 10-week professional opportunities for eleven college students from different universities, including The University of Texas at El Paso.
Officials stated that 17 high school students were able to shadow seasoned professionals, providing them with valuable mentorship opportunities and insight into future career development.
“Our internship program provides students with hands-on experience, direct access to subject matter experts and professional development opportunities,” said Aimee Saldivar, Senior Human Resources Operations Specialist at El Paso Electric. “Over the past 15 years, El Paso Electric has focused on helping students strengthen workplace skills, expand their professional networks and gain meaningful exposure to the utility industry while building a strong pipeline of future talent.”
