The Greater San Antonio area was represented by multiple high school graduates in the 2026 MLB draft, which was held this past weekend.

Boerne graduate Camden Johnson was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the ninth round with the 269th overall pick. He was listed as the No. 116 overall draft prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. 

Johnson played one year at Oklahoma and was part of the squad that won this year’s NCAA national championship. He played in 65 of the Sooners’ 66 games this season and batted .298 with 73 hits, 48 RBIs and nine home runs. Prior to Oklahoma, Johnson played at Wichita State after graduating from Boerne. 

At Boerne, Johnson hit .433 with 41 RBIs and 33 steals as a senior. He was selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) All-State team and was an Express-News Super Team selection. He holds Boerne’s record for career hits with 160. Johnson was also a wide receiver for Boerne’s football team. 

Johnson graduate Mason Bixby was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 14th round with the 413th overall pick. Bixby also helped Oklahoma win the 2026 NCAA title after transferring in from TCU. In his year with the Sooners, Bixby appeared in 17 games as a relief pitcher. He went 2-0 with a 7.02 ERA in 16 ⅔ innings pitched. Bixby recorded 24 strikeouts with just 13 walks. 

Bixby was selected to the Express-News Super Team as a junior after going 7-1 with a 1.54 ERA and 68 strikeouts. 

Boerne graduate Rashawn Galloway was selected by the Houston Astros in the 16th round with the 481st overall pick. Galloway spent four seasons at Texas State after graduating from Boerne. As a senior, he led the Bobcats in hitting with a .318 batting average in 63 games with 84 hits, 48 RBIs, 53 runs and 12 home runs. 

At Boerne, Galloway was named the District 26-4A MVP after hitting .534 with 49 RBIs, seven home runs and 16 doubles. He was selected to the Express-News Super Team as a senior. Galloway was a multisport athlete in high school and set Boerne’s all-time passing record with 8,430 career yards. He was a 2021 Express-News Football Offensive Player of the Year finalist.
