LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The City of Lubbock is teaming up with local businesses and civic organizations to collect new school supplies at more than a dozen locations across Lubbock through July 23 as part of a community drive ahead of the 2026 Citywide Back-2-School Bash with Texas Tech University.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Admission and all items are free.

Attendees can receive free backpacks, school supplies, and community resources, among other items. Children must be present to receive a backpack.
Residents who register for the Lubbock Public Library Summer Reading Program will also receive a free CityBus pass to attend the event.
