Professional men’s soccer is coming to Mansfield when FC Dallas plays Orlando City SC in a friendly to return to form after more than a month off for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. FC Dallas’ first real game after the break is July 22 in Portland against the Timbers.

FC Dallas is also playing its opening Leagues Cup match against a professional club from Mexico in Mansfield on Aug. 5.
Texas Health Mansfield Stadium is kicking off its inaugural season with a bang. Czechia was based there for training for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, and the USWNT is playing there in November for the CONCACAF W Tournament, which will be held entirely in Texas.
While Czechia’s World Cup journey has come to an end, the team’s stay in North Texas was about more than soccer. From training sessions to community connections, the visit gave Mansfield a chance to showcase Texas hospitality on the world stage and welcome international fans and players alike.
FC Dallas striker Petar Musa was named an MLS All-Star last week. Musa scored for Croatia in his World Cup debut; Croatia was eliminated by Portugal in the Round of 32. Musa is tied for second in the MLS in goals at 12 with Lionel Messi.
Toyota Stadium is currently undergoing renovations to increase seating and add a partial roof. Those are expected to be completed in 2028. FC Dallas returns there on September 5 against Kansas City.
Major League Soccer is taking a seven-week break from May 25 to July 16 to accommodate the World Cup before transitioning to a fall-to-spring schedule, which more aligns with its international counterparts like the English Premier League.
FC Dallas is currently fourth in the Western Conference.
North Texas SC is an FC Dallas affiliate, established in 2018, which previously played at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, the former home of the Texas Rangers.
