​A Richardson City Council member announced his resignation at Monday night’s meeting

Dan Barrios was originally elected to City Council in May of 2023.

RICHARDSON, Texas — Richardson City Council member, Dan Barrios announced his resignation at Monday night’s meeting, according to the city. 

Under state law, a vacancy occurs on the date of resignation after a written notice has been submitted, or on the eighth day after the date it is received. 

City Manager, Don Manger, will place the item on next week’s agenda to discuss further steps related to the vacancy. Steps include process, timing, and other options available under the law and city procedures. 

Barrios was originally elected to City Council Place 3 in May of 2023. Additional information will be made available after the city council discusses the matter at next week’s meeting.
