How to watch France vs. Spain
Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. on Fox and Telemundo. The game can also be streamed on Fox Sports and Peacock.
France and Spain fans streamed into Texas Live! hours before kickoff at Dallas Stadium. Some had tickets secured, others hoped to buy some last minute or watch from screens around the stadium.
“France happens to be one of my favorite countries in the world,” Dallas-area resident Anthony Wesson said, a French flag draped over his shoulders. “Naturally, when France came here, I had to take a day off of work.”
Wesson sported a French jersey underneath the flag. He paid $70 to watch the game at Texas Live!, but the semifinal wasn’t in reach for the fan who paid $500 to watch the Ecuador-Curaçao game in Kansas City.
Ticket prices for this semifinal dropped 60% after Team USA left the World Cup, but that drop went from astronomically high to only slightly more affordable. Tickets on the secondary market cost more than $1,600.
More updates to follow.
France defeated Morocco 2-0 in a quarterfinal matchup Thursday, securing a spot in the semifinal. Mbappé, the 2022 Golden Boot winner, netted his eighth goal of the tournament to open the scoring, tying him with Lionel Messi in the race for this year’s Golden Boot. He is now one away from tying the Argentine atop the all-time World Cup goals list (Messi has 21 goals in 31 World Cup games).
After entering this tournament as FIFA’s top-ranked team, France has outscored its opponents 14-2.
Mikel Merino scored in the 88th minute on a rebound yielded by backup Belgium goalkeeper Senne Lammens, and Spain advanced to the World Cup semifinals with a 2-1 victory on Friday.
While Spain has outscored opponents 10-1 since a stunning scoreless draw against surprising Cape Verde to open group play, La Roja is still alive after Merino had late decisive goals after subbing into each of the last two games.
