MTU has been in North Texas since 2011 and in the Alliance area since 2023. It signed a 30-year lease with the city of Fort Worth for use of space at the airport. According to previous reporting, the lease will run through June 30, 2054.

The expansion will focus on disassembly, assembly and test capabilities, according to a news release.

Gernot Sell, MTU Maintenance Fort Worth’s managing director, said staffing will grow to more than 1,200 employees once the site is fully “ramped up.” An onsite training academy already is in place.

According to a news release, the project will also support an additional 2,000 indirect jobs throughout the region.
