EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A vehicle crashed into the University Medical Center’s parking garage Tuesday morning, July 14 in South-Central El Paso.
KTSM 9 News crews on scene captured the aftermath of a truck that appeared to crash into the rock wall of UMC’s parking garage, head on. Investigators have placed a sheet over the area where the collision happened.

In a video uploaded to social media, a truck appeared to crash into the rock wall of UMC’s parking garage, head on. The wall does not appear to have any damages.
A UMC spokeswoman sent a statement to KTSM 9 News about the crash, saying that operations at the hospital have not been affected and city inspectors are assessing the building.
“This morning, our employee parking garage, which also houses our lab, was impacted by a vehicle. Our immediate priority has been the safety and well-being of everyone involved. There is no immediate danger to patients or staff, and operations have not been affected.
Employees who were in the immediate area at the time of the incident are being evaluated out of an abundance of caution, and the occupants of the truck are also being evaluated.
A structural engineer and city inspectors are assessing the building and evaluating the damage.
We appreciate the quick response from emergency personnel,” the spokeswoman said.
It is unclear how many people were involved in the crash or the severity of their injuries.
