EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – UPDATE: The El Paso County Coroner’s Office told 11 News Monday the person killed was 39-year-old Michael Fell.
ORIGINAL COVERAGE: On Tuesday just after noon, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office announced it was investigating a presumed homicide in the Cimarron Hills area of unincorporated El Paso County.
The response is ongoing on the 2300 block of Reed Grass Way, south of the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Marksheffel Road.
Sergeant Brittany Williams with the Sheriff’s Office said their regional communications center received multiple calls around 1 a.m. Tuesday, reporting a shooting in the area. Patrol deputies responded and found a person with a gunshot wound.
Personnel from the Falcon Fire Protection District arrived and took over life-saving measures, but the victim died at the scene.
According to law enforcement, at least four masked individuals had robbed the home before fleeing. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, saying there is no further threat to the community.
The investigation is ongoing. The identity of the victim will be released by the El Paso County Coroner.
