The Dallas Cowboys waived Jalen Cropper on Tuesday, marking a key roster move at wide receiver.

Cropper spent just a few days on Dallas’ 53-man roster. He was signed to the team’s roster from the practice squad Saturday after running back Miles Sanders was placed on injured reserve.

Cropper has appeared in three games for the Cowboys this season. He returned two kickoffs for 38 yards and two punts for 19 yards in Dallas’ Week 6 loss at Carolina.

The Cropper move signals that the Cowboys are likely opening up a roster spot for another player. During his Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM), Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said players like CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin are “looking good” as they look to return from injury.

“Without being doctor here and without the benefit of a week of practice seeing where they are, thumbs up on all. It’s looking good, but that’s just it. You’ve got to have that week of practice, which we haven’t had,” Jones said. “When we have it, that’ll be the report card. [We will] see how it goes this week.”

According to multiple reports, the Cowboys could bring Cropper back to the team’s practice squad if he clears waivers.
