Flight from Midland to Denver makes emergency landing in Lubbock

A United Airlines flight reportedly made an emergency landing/diversion in Lubbock after a reported medical emergency.

LUBBOCK, Texas — A flight bound from Midland to Denver had to divert/make an emergency landing in Lubbock on Wednesday after a reported medical emergency. 

According to Lubbock Fire Rescue, around 12:15 p.m., a United Airlines flight from Midland Air and Spaceport made an emergency landing/diversion from the original destination of Denver because of a medical emergency while in the air. 

Officials say that due to standard operating procedures, Lubbock Fire Rescue’s Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) units were along the runway to prepare for possible brake overheating.

Additional Lubbock Fire Rescue &UMC EMS were staged at the arrival gate to provide patient care. 

Lubbock Fire Officials report that there was no fire and the plane resumed track to its original destination.
