Cibolo Creek is expected to reach 31 feet in the area. Residents are urged to closely monitor water levels and prepare to move to higher ground if flooding worsens, the agency said.
First responders are keeping an active watch on the creek’s water levels, low-water crossings and other roadways to ensure the community’s safety.
Residents are urged to stay home, if it’s safe to do so, until levels recede and to avoid any travel on flooded roadways or around barricades. Remember: Turn around, don’t drown.
The City of Schertz said the creek rose to about 22.5 feet overnight and crested around 3 a.m. Thursday, July 16, but water levels had started to recede, according to a Facebook post from 6:30 a.m.
