El Pasoan heads to World Cup Final
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – An El Paso McDonald’s general manager has been selected as one of only four McDonald’s managers in the U.S. to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final.
Teresa Castillo, who manages the McDonald’s restaurant at Dyer Street and Fred Wilson Avenue, earned the honor after her restaurant achieved the top performance ranking in the El Paso market, according to McDonald’s.
Company officials said Castillo’s restaurant outperformed more than 600 restaurants within her McOpCo district based on overall scorecard performance.
Castillo was surprised with the announcement during a celebration at her restaurant. As part of the award, McDonald’s is providing airfare, hotel accommodations and tickets to the FIFA World Cup Final, which will be held Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in New York-New Jersey.

Castillo has worked for McDonald’s for nearly 30 years and is recognized for her leadership, restaurant performance and commitment to mentoring employees, the company said.
In addition to managing the restaurant, Castillo has organized fundraisers supporting local schools, youth sports programs and nonprofit organizations throughout the El Paso community.
McDonald’s is an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and is recognizing employees across the country through experiences tied to the international tournament.
