EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Two new homes are now open for El Paso’s local youth as the Children and Family Resource Center expands its housing for children in need.

Lee and Beulah Moor Children’s Home opened two new cottages on Thursday where 16 children served by the organization will live.

Speaking to KFOX14/CBS4, the resource center said the new homes will help expand stability and care to children in need.

“It was a necessity to expand and serve more children and families,” said Renee Tanner, chief executive officer of Lee and Beulah Moor Children’s Home.

Tanner said growing economic pressures are driving more families to seek help.

“The way that the economic circumstances have played out, along with joblessness, homelessness, and just food insecurity, there are families that have reached out, more and more for those reasons,” Tanner said.

The organization said it currently serves 80 children and their families.
