GAINESVILLE, Mo. (KY3) – A man has been arrested in Texas in connection with the attempted theft of an ATM at a Gainesville bank in March, the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Jaivon Smith was taken into custody without incident in Highlands, Texas, following an investigation led by Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin. Smith is currently being held in the Harris County Jail awaiting extradition to Missouri.

The Ozark County Sheriff’s Office was called to Stockman’s Bank on the morning of March 26 in response to an attempted ATM theft. The investigation led authorities to a suburb of Houston, Texas.
Agencies involved
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation and arrest.
