TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — An arrest has been made in a Special Victim’s Unit investigation conducted in Terrebonne Parish.

According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, in June, SVU detectives were alerted of a child under the age of 12, reporting alleged sexual abuse.

Through an investigation and interview with the victim and family, 25-year-old Chase Naquin was identified as the suspect. Additional evidence was found that “clearly connected Naquin to the allegations of child sexual abuse,” according to deputies.

An arrest warrant was obtained and on June 18, Naquin, who was working in Texas, was located and arrested by the Midland County Sheriff’s Office. He has since been transferred to Louisiana and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a charge of first-degree rape.

His bond was set at $200,000.

TPSO deputies say the investigation remains ongoing.
