EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – El Paso Pro-Musica has announced its 2026-27 concert season, a lineup that will celebrate the upcoming America250 commemoration while bringing internationally recognized musicians and educational outreach programs to the Borderland.

The season opens on Oct. 8 with Grammy Award-winning pianist Awadagin Pratt, whose performance will feature works by contemporary American composers as part of the organization’s America250 tribute. Pratt’s appearance also marks a return to El Paso, having performed during Zuill Bailey’s inaugural concert as artistic director in 2002.

“This year will be truly spectacular, with all of the musical artists coming to El Paso committed to not only the Concert Hall, but to share their love of music with students throughout the region,” Artistic Director Zuill Bailey said in a release to KTSM.

In November, El Paso Pro-Musica will present the world premiere of Visions of Humanity and Unity, featuring the Vega Quartet, and pianist Dominic Dousa. The December holiday concert will showcase the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Time for Three, known for blending classical music with contemporary styles.

The organization’s annual Chamber Music Festival returns in January 2027 and will also mark the beginning of El Paso Pro-Musica’s 50th anniversary year. The festival will open with a performance by the internationally acclaimed Canadian Brass, whose visit will include master classes for students in the University of Texas at El Paso Department of Music. Additional featured performers include Van Cliburn International Piano Competition winner Olga Kern and the Cincinnati Symphony All-Stars.

The season concludes on April 1 with a performance by the Galvin Cello Quartet, a young ensemble recognized for its innovative approach to chamber music.

Beyond the concert schedule, the season places a strong emphasis on music education, with several visiting artists participating in outreach activities and educational programs for students across the El Paso region.
