LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Caprock Classic Car Club held its 30th annual car show Saturday at Lubbock Christian University, 5601 19th St., drawing between 200 and 225 vehicles and raising money for local charities and organizations.
The event ran from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is considered the largest car show in Lubbock County.
The show featured professionally judged awards, including top 25 awards, specialty awards and cash prizes. South Plains Electric Cooperative, Inc. served as the title sponsor.
Attendees had access to food trucks, a silent auction, kids activities, music and a raffle throughout the day. General admission was free and open to the public.
As a nonprofit, the Caprock Classic Car Club donates approximately $25,000 per year to local charities and organizations. Previous recipients include the South Plains Food Bank, Children’s Home of Lubbock, Lubbock Meals on Wheels, Texas South Plains Honor Flight, CASA of the South Plains, Lubbock Women’s Protective Services, Texas Girls & Boys Ranch, Boots & Badges of the South Plains, the Lubbock Chapter of Disabled American Veterans and Lubbock Christian University’s Scholarship Fund, among others.
