EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Professional boxing returns to the El Paso County Coliseum tonight at 7 p.m. as Kings Promotions and Warriors Edge Promotions bring Ring Wars 23 to El Paso with a card packed with championship bouts, undefeated fighters and several highly anticipated matchups.
In the main event, undefeated El Paso fighter Jorge Tovar (14-0) is set for an eight-round middleweight fight against Mexico’s Ulices Tovar Rivera (12-6, 7 KOs). The matchup pits Tovar’s zero-loss record against a more experienced opponent, with both fighters bringing knockout power into the bout.
El Paso’s Nayeli Rodriguez (7-1-1) will be fighting tonight to defend her UBO Intercontinental Flyweight Championship and also compete for the WIBA World Championship against Albuquerque’s Katherine Lindenmuth (7-5-1, 3 KOs).
Another championship fight features El Paso’s Dominic Barry (10-0-1, 10 KOs) against New Jersey’s DeJon Farrell-Francis (5-3, 4 KOs) for the UBO Intercontinental Cruiserweight Championship. Barry enters with 10 knockouts in 10 wins making him a dangerous competitor
