EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — More than five years after a road rage encounter in east El Paso turned deadly, investigators are asking the public to help identify the driver accused of killing 39-year-old Jose Guzman.
Crime Stoppers of El Paso and the El Paso Police Department are seeking information through their Crime of the Week program.
On Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, Guzman was traveling with his family on Joe Battle when he became involved in a road rage incident with another driver. Guzman exited Joe Battle and pulled into a parking lot at 1201 Bob Hope, and the suspect also exited and pulled into the same lot.

Police said Guzman got out of his vehicle and walked toward the suspect’s car. The suspect then accelerated toward Guzman, struck him and fled the scene. Guzman died days later from his injuries.
Investigators described the suspect vehicle as a four-door red or burgundy car that likely has damage to the front right side.
