JPMorgan Chase & Co. is laying off more than 200 employees at its Plano campus as the financial giant consolidates operations.
New York-based JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) will eliminate 244 positions at its Legacy-area campus, where it employs more than 12,000 people. The office is one of JPMorgan’s largest employment hubs outside of New York.
The cuts amount to about 2% of the campus headcount and primarily affect fraud specialist roles. They are expected to begin Aug. 21, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission. Employees impacted by the layoffs will be eligible for severance benefits, and some may qualify for relocation assistance.
The reductions are tied to the bank’s decision to discontinue inbound call center operations for fraud and customer protection services in its consumer and community banking division.
