PAYNE SPRINGS, Texas (KETK) – A single-wide trailer home near Cedar Creek Lake in Henderson County was destroyed in a fire on Friday.

According to Payne Springs Fire Rescue, their volunteer firefighters responded to County Road 2830 at around 5:24 a.m. on Friday after they were alerted to a structure fire.
Firefighters first saw the large glow from the fire and when they arrived at the scene they found a single-wide trailer that was heavily engulfed in flames. The burning trailer was already threatening a neighboring trailer, which had lost three windows and had siding melting away.

The first thing firefighters did was protect the neighboring trailer, which was also checked to see if the fire had spread to it but this structure only had damage from water, smoke and heat.
The original trailer was declared a total loss but luckily no one was reported injured on Friday. The Henderson County Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
