One Arlington restaurant was temporarily closed due to lack of handwashing stations and poor cleanliness was observed at other locations, according to the city’s latest inspection report.
Arlington’s inspections function on a 100-point system, where a score of 100 is considered perfect and 70 is considered extremely poor. The city of Arlington also provides establishments with inspection score certificates, which assign a letter grade — A, B, C or F — to help customers see the results of the latest health inspection.
The reports compiled by the Star-Telegram contain data on health violations from 127 inspections between June 28 and July 11.
Upper Northwest Fry/Beer Cart inside AT&T Stadium, 900 E. Randol Mill Road was temporarily closed after their handwash stations were not working, health inspectors also observed poor cleanliness and broken food and non-food equipment. Score 91.
Three eateries failed during this inspection cycle:
Hai Au Restaurant at 2202 New York Ave., Suite 908, failed due to several violations including improper hot and cold holding temperatures, unsafe thawing practices, inadequate separation and storage of food and lack of employee food-handling training. Health inspectors also noted the eatery had deficiencies in overall hygienic practices and the cleanliness of food and non-food equipment and surfaces. Score: 64.Ba-Le Restaurant at 2240 Browning Drive scored 63 and failed a routine health inspection due to improper hot and cold holding, time and temperature control and unclean food-contact surfaces and equipment. The eatery also had deficiencies in overall hygienic practices, handwashing procedures and cleanliness of non–food-contact surfaces and equipment. Health inspectors verified that the violations were corrected after a follow-up inspection.Vaqueros Cantina Stand inside AT&T Stadium, 900 E. Randol Mill Road, scored 66 and failed health inspection due to multiple violations including issues related to improper hot and cold holding, date marking, and unclean food-contact surfaces and equipment. Health inspectors also noted deficiencies in overall hygienic practices like lack of food manager, improper handwashing, glove usage and problems with their physical facilities.
During this inspection cycle 22 restaurants had follow-up inspections.
