A 19-year-old Carrollton, Texas, native was one of two American soldiers who died in action during an Iranian attack Friday on a base in Jordan.
Army Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, of Carrollton, and 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, died at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base during an Iranian ballistic missile and drone attack. The incident is under investigation, according to a Department of Defense news release.

An additional service member is missing in action, according to a news statement from U.S. Central Command. Four American soldiers were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals and have since been released.
Both soldiers died supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, according to the release. The military operation is focused on defeating the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. It began in 2014.
Gonzales enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2025 and has been a member of the 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command in Ansbach, Germany, since January 2026. Gonzales had also been assigned to 1st Battalion, 57th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 52nd Air Defense Artillery Brigade.
Feehan was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 55th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 32nd Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
