Dallas officials said Monday that technicians were working to restore the city’s website after an outage left it unavailable for several hours.
It’s not immediately clear what caused the outage, according to city spokesperson Rick Ericson. The city’s IT department was notified of the outage at 9:55 a.m.
The outage didn’t affect 911 or 311 phone and virtual services, Ericson said. Separate systems including DallasGo, the city’s online bill-payment platform, and DallasNow, its online permitting portal, appeared to be unaffected by the outage and were still accessible Monday.
“Nothing to report at this time on cause or ETA of restoration of the website,” Ericson said. “We’ll let you know when we know more.”
The website remained unavailable around 1 p.m. The site serves as the city’s main online source for City Council agendas, department information, news releases and other public resources.
The city also alerted employees about the outage in an internal email Monday saying users not on the city’s network “may experience connectivity issues.” The email also instructed employees to tell anyone asking about the outage that technicians are working to restore services as quickly as possible.
