ABILENE, Texas — Local law enforcement officers from agencies across Texas will trade in their badges for aprons in Abilene later this month to raise money for Special Olympics Texas.

Texas officers trade badges for aprons at Tip a Cop fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse
The annual Tip A Cop fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, through Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Texas Roadhouse, 1381 S. Danville Drive. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. each night.
During the fundraiser, officers will greet guests, assist waitstaff, interact with families and help raise funds to support year-round sports training and competition opportunities for Special Olympics Texas athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Media opportunities are expected to include interviews with local law enforcement officers, Special Olympics Texas athletes and families, and community members supporting the fundraiser, along with video and photo opportunities of officers serving guests and interacting with athletes inside and outside the restaurant.
