CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — New details in the quest for barbecue at your local grocery store, specifically the H-E-B Plus on Saratoga Boulevard. H-E-B announced the new True Texas BBQ restaurant is expected to open in late 2026. The opening is part of a larger, more than $30 million renovation of the store.
The restaurant will be the first True Texas BBQ location in the Coastal Bend. Customers will be able to dine in, order takeout and use catering services for parties, corporate events and family gatherings.
The Texas-style barbecue restaurant is known for its smoked brisket, St. Louis-style ribs and pulled pork.
A spokesperson for H-E-B tells 3NEWS the restaurant will open before the rest of the store renovations are complete. The overall renovation of the H-E-B Plus is expected to be finished in late 2027. The upgrades include updated departments, a new layout and improved customer amenities.
H-E-B said it will announce additional construction milestones and grand opening details as the project progresses.
