COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) arrested a man they said threw a television at another person, then fled from deputies.
Deputies said they responded to a home in the Falcon Meadows area on July 14 around 2:41 a.m. for a report that a person known to the victim had thrown a TV at them, striking them in the leg.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect, 35-year-old Mason Buck, had fled the home and was in the area of Woodmen and Golden Sage Road.
Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop, but they said he turned the vehicle around and fled east on Woodmen. EPSO said they did not follow due to safety reasons.
A short time later, deputies said they recieved a report that the same suspect was in a crash near Lambert Road and Park Gate Drive.
EPSO said Buck was wearing an ankle monitor and was able to be tracked driving through a field east of Eatonville Road and Rex Road in an attempt to escape deputies.
Deputies said Buck made it through the field, and they were then able to set up a blockade along the road.
Buck tried to go around the blockade, but EPSO said he crashed into a ditch. At that point, he exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.
He is facing charges of second-degree assault, vehicular eluding, criminal mischief, second-degree criminal tampering, violation of a restraining order and child abuse. Buck is being held at the El Paso County Jail without bond.
