UTA’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation, School of Social Work and Faculty Success are looking to fill their vacant executive positions.
All searches will continue or start in August, according to an email from the Office of the Provost.
Here are the vacant executive positions:
College of Nursing and Health Innovation dean
The search for a new CONHI dean continues and has been ongoing since 2024. Throughout that time, the committee has seen about seven candidates, according to previous Shorthorn reporting. During the spring semester, four dean candidates presented their visions for the college.
The college’s dean engages, leads and energizes the community within the college to build new initiatives and collaborations across and outside of the university, according to previous Shorthorn reporting.
James Grover assumed the position of interim dean in June while serving as the dean of Graduate School, and will continue to hold the interim position until a permanent successor is chosen, according to an email from the Office of the Provost.
School of Social Work interim dean
The dean serves as a visionary and strategic leader responsible for oversight of the School of Social Work and is expected to address the emerging issues occurring in the field.
The position became vacant following Kirk Foster, former dean of the School of Social Work, being named the Florida State University dean of the College of Social Work.
Faculty Success vice provost
The vice provost oversees and provides support for faculty matters, including faculty promotion and tenure, faculty professional development, orientation and leadership training, review of policy, faculty development leaves, faculty retention, faculty awards and honors, and grievances and conduct issues.
Jackie Fay assumed the role of interim vice provost and will continue to hold the position until a permanent successor is chosen.
