One of the nation’s largest mass timber office buildings is now part of the Plano campus
Toyota Financial Services is expanding its headquarters campus in Plano with a new office building designed to support continued growth and bring more employees together in one place.
The company has begun moving team members into TFS North, a newly completed seven-story building that adds 242,000 square feet of office space to the Toyota North America campus. The expansion can accommodate more than 1,000 employees and will house teams focused on customer experience, dealer experience, and data and technology.
Additional departments are expected to move into the building over the coming weeks, with full occupancy anticipated by fall 2026.
A Workplace Built Around Collaboration
One of the defining features of TFS North is its construction. The building is one of the largest mass timber office buildings in the United States, using Southern Yellow Pine throughout the structure to create a warm, open environment.
According to Tim Conlon, Toyota Financial Services’ senior manager of real estate, the design team wanted the building to feel inviting while encouraging interaction among employees.
“The natural wood structure was intentionally highlighted, and wide-open views were preserved throughout the office to bring warmth and character into the workplace,” Conlon said.
The open floor plan was designed to improve visibility across teams and create more opportunities for collaboration throughout the workday.
New Amenities For Employees
In addition to expanded office space, TFS North includes several features intended to improve the employee experience. The building offers a fitness center with locker rooms, micro markets, furnished outdoor balconies and plans for a future restaurant. It also incorporates white noise systems to reduce distractions in open work areas, automated window shades that adjust throughout the day and lighting that responds to natural daylight to conserve energy.
An adjacent 800-space parking garage includes electric vehicle charging stations, with parking availability counters expected to be added in the future.
Room To Grow
The new building also gives Toyota Financial Services flexibility to reconfigure its existing headquarters space as more employees move into TFS North.
“Our new building provides a modern environment where team members can come together to collaborate and provide the best possible service to our customers and dealers,” said Alec Hagey, president and CEO of Toyota Financial Services. “As team members occupy this building, we will be able to reconfigure our existing headquarters space to reduce overcrowding, enhance collaboration, and foster innovation to position our company for future growth.”
The expansion marks another investment in Toyota’s Plano headquarters as the company continues to grow its North Texas workforce.
