On Monday, American announced plans for a 37,000-square-foot lounge in Dallas-Fort Worth International’s Terminal C next to the Skylink station. The lounge will offer food and beverages, a variety of seating options, dedicated work and relaxation areas and other premium amenities.

“Together with its convenient location and modern design, the new Admirals Club lounge will offer a distinctly premium experience that reflects the airline’s continued investment in customer comfort, hospitality and choice at DFW,” the news release reads.

American described the project as a “next-generation premium experience,” with several other renovations and enhancements also in the pipeline. In addition to the lounge in Terminal C, American also unveiled plans for a Provisions by Admirals Club lounge in DFW’s future Terminal F. That space will offer travelers grand-and-go options with a curated selection of food, premium beverages and travel essentials.

The airline also announced a new Flagship check-in experience near the D30 security checkpoint, set to open late this year. The “exclusive space” will be part of the terminal’s initial phase, providing travelers with a private check-in environment, individual assistance from American team members and convenient access to security screening.

Additional details are expected in the future as plans continue to develop. The airline previously committed $4 billion to build out Terminal F—a 31-gate terminal that will be exclusively operated by American, according to The Dallas Morning News

“We’re investing in every stage of the premium travel journey at DFW, beginning the moment customers arrive at the airport,” said Heather Garboden, American’s chief customer officer, in the release. “Our Flagship check-in experience offers a more tailored and streamlined start to the journey, bringing together dedicated service, premium amenities and greater convenience for our most loyal and premium customers.”

The DFW airport serves as American’s largest operational hub.

The airline reports more than 930 peak daily departures and more than 30 percent of the airline’s connecting passengers and checked bags pass through DFW.

“We’re making significant investments in the future of our largest hub at DFW, with our customers at the heart of every decision,” Jim Moses, American’s senior vice president of DFW operations, said in the release. “From major expansions to transformative enhancements, we’re making travel through DFW even more seamless, comfortable and convenient.”
