LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Nebraska Task Force 1 has relocated and is conducting preparedness operations while officials monitor rising water conditions in a south Texas county.
The task force, which consists of 43 members, said Tuesday it relocated to Live Oak County due to forecasted high water across the Nueces River Basin.

Members have coordinated with local officials, emergency managers and fire and law enforcement agencies since arriving at their new location. They continue to survey the area to identify potential hazards and confirm access routes for emergency vehicles and boats.
The task force said it has finalized a response plan tied to local river conditions to quickly deploy Swiftwater and boat rescue teams if flooding occurs.
A rapid response crew remains on standby 24 hours a day.
The task force was activated last week after days of pounding rain caused dangerous flooding in Texas. Members headed to San Antonio, Texas, before relocating.
