LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A 23-year-old Lubbock man pleaded guilty today to the 2024 murder of a 22-year-old woman.
In March 2024, Lubbock police said investigators with the Texas Anti-Gang Center Unit were investigating an unrelated case on the 1300 block of 65th St.

Officers saw Mauriece Hendrix and Ariel Cade, who were previously in a romantic relationship, leave an apartment in the area.
That’s when police said Hendrix pulled out a gun and shot Cade in the head. She was taken to UMC with serious injuries where she would later die.
After the shooting, Hendrix ran away from the scene. Officers requested help in searching for him including aid from above by the Texas Department of Public Safety’s helicopter.
Hendrix was then caught and arrested near 58th St. and Ave. P. Hendrix was sentenced to 55 years in prison.
