Members of Oklahoma Task Force 1, including Tulsa Fire Department personnel, have been asked to remain in Texas for another seven days as crews continue responding to flooding and water rescue needs along the Frio River.
The Tulsa Fire Department said OK-TF1 members are currently working alongside Oklahoma Task Force 2, Florida Task Force 4, the Texas National Guard and other local agencies as rising water continues.
Over the last week, TFD said task force members have been standing by with rescue squads ready to respond to evacuations and swift water rescues and working alongside National Guard high-profile vehicles to reach areas threatened by rising water.
Crews have also been monitoring rapidly changing river conditions as water levels continue to rise.
TFD shared the following message in part:
“The safety of our responders remains a top priority. We’re grateful to report that all Oklahoma Task Force 1 personnel are healthy, injury-free, and in good spirits as they continue this important mission.
Please keep all of the first responders, emergency personnel, and the families affected by these floods in your thoughts as this operation continues.”
