After years of economic uncertainty and stinging inflation, some Houston-area workers are now showing signs that they’re ready to change jobs.
In what many see as a sign of continued health in the Houston economy, a new Robert Half Co. survey shows a large number of people want to move on from their present circumstances.
“Our survey actually showed that 58-percent of Houston workers said they plan to look for a new job in the second half of this year, and that’s above the national average which is 46-percent,” according to Robert Half Regional Director Robert Vaughn.
Specifically, “we are looking at the professional services industries and anything from technical, marketing and creative, legal and financial are all seeing a big uptick in the number of people looking for a change,” he says.
And while those who are ready for a move are not strictly tied to the emerging artificial intelligence skills, AI is becoming so far-reaching that many of the jobs now valued are deeply connected to “new tech.”
He adds, “a lot of companies are looking to tech modernization and digital transformation, and these initiatives have to occur, and sometimes it takes new people and new opportunities.”
