Firefighters in Polk County responded to a wildfire near Dallas on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said around 3 p.m. that Oak Villa Rd has been closed between Kings Valley Hwy and E. Ellendale Ave as crews work to contain the fire.
The fire has burned around 50 acres as of 5:30 p.m., with one home evacuated in the area, according to Dallas Fire & EMS.
Firefighters say the fire is traveling southeast toward a dry area of agriculture and a Christmas tree farm. As of 8 p.m., Dallas Fire says the wildfire is around 50% contained.
No injuries have been reported.
