EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has created a new program for incarcerated individuals by providing industry-recognized construction flagging certification designed to prepare participants for “meaningful” employment upon their release.
EPSO said the program aims to equip participants with valuable skills in traffic control procedures, workplace safety and construction flagging operations through practical, hands-on training.
On Wednesday, five incarcerated individuals became the first graduates of the program, successfully earning their CDOT construction flagging certification, EPSO said.
“One of our goals is to provide citizens in our custody with opportunities to prepare them for a successful future,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal.
