El Paso Fire Department, Border Patrol work to rescue Franklin Mountains hiker

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Crews are working to rescue a hiker from the Franklin Mountains in Northeast El Paso.

According to the El Paso Fire Department, crews are stationed at 2740 Gunnison Drive at the base of the Franklin Mountains as they work to bring a hiker down Wednesday afternoon.

EPFD did not report the hiker being injured, adding that at around 1:40 p.m., crews finally made contact with the hiker.

A Border Patrol helicopter is said to be helping in the rescue.
