HALTOM CITY – Kathy Darlene Tennison (Smith), 63, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the Breyley Suite at Mount Olivet. Kathy was born on Feb. 21, 1963, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to Grady and Catherine Smith. She spent most of her life living in Fort Worth, Texas, Mineral Wells, Texas, and she also spent some time in Bel Air, Maryland. Kathy valued time with family and made it a priority wherever she was. She had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in camping, fishing, and spending time on the water. She had a special passion for plants and found happiness in caring for and watching them grow. She especially loved stopping at Buc-ee’s when traveling, something that always brought a smile to her face. She adored her puppies and cherished every moment with them. She dedicated her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she cared for others with compassion, kindness, and a genuine heart. Taking care of people was not just her job-it was who she was. Kathy will be remembered for her feisty spirit, her strength, and the way she always put her family first. Kathy, known to many as “Dolly,” was loved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Smith and Grady Smith; and her brothers, William Smith and Timothy Smith. Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Tennison; her children, Michael Smith, (Kelley), Robert Smith, (Stephanie), Shanna Kelly, (Travis), Dixie Chandler, (Joel); 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her siblings, Debbie Foster, Wanda Isbell, (Mark), Patricia Landis, Gary Smith, (Christy), Jackie Smith, (Vivian), and Hershell Smith, (Julie); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
