EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — As families prepare for a new school year, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will host its annual Backpack Giveaway on June 25 to help ensure students have the supplies they need to start the school year ready to learn.
The giveaway will begin at 8 a.m. at the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters, located at 3850 Justice Drive.
Backpacks will be distributed while supplies last, and students must be present to receive a backpack.
Officials said the Sheriff’s Office invites families to join them Saturday morning for this annual event and looks forward to welcoming students as they prepare for another successful school year.
“Preparing for a new school year can be an exciting but costly time for families, and we are proud to do our part to help,” said Sheriff Oscar Ugarte. “This event would not be possible
without the generosity of our sponsors and community partners. Their support allows us to give back to the families we serve while helping our students begin the school year prepared and confident.”
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said it extends its sincere appreciation to the community partners and sponsors whose generosity helped make this year’s giveaway possible:
