CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICO (KFOX14/CBS4) — Mexican law enforcement said it rescued 14 people– including two kids who were being held for ransom– and arrested eight during an operation targeting human trafficking in Ciudad Juarez.
According to the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSPE), the rescue happened at a home near Estaño and Begonias streets in the Bellavista neighborhood, but not before a police pursuit around the area.
SSPE said it all started when investigators with the State Police first spotted two men near the Rio Grande suspected of human trafficking.
Agents then detained both men and took their vehicle.
During the detention, SPPE said a 34-year-old woman approached agents and told them that two of her children had been kidnapped some days before and were being held for a $10,000 ransom, adding that she had only paid half of the amount asked, $5,000.
SPPE said the woman then pointed agents in the direction of the home where she believed the kids were being held.

With that information, SPPE said agents cracked down on the home and chased six suspects around the neighborhood until they caught them and rescued the two kidnapped children.
Then, from the same home, 12 people were reportedly rescued.
State police also impounded three vehicles believed to have been used for human trafficking.

Authorities identified four suspects:
42-year-old Alejandro C. Sosa 20-year-old Edgar G.G23-year-old Angel H.M.18-year-old Angel Esteban S.C.
Three other suspects were said to be underage and were not identified.
On Tuesday, SSPE took to social media to post a video showing moments from the operation.
