Details about the new ownership group and a reopening timeline have not yet been disclosed
Just days after announcing its closure, The HUB at The Farm has a new owner and a new future. The entertainment destination at in Allen officially changed hands on July 22.
While a reopening date has not been announced, the new owners say they plan to revive the venue at 1289 Johnson Road and create a new destination for Allen and the surrounding communities according to a statement from The HUB.
The announcement comes only two days after The HUB closed its doors on July 20.
A New Chapter For The Allen Property
The creators of The HUB on 30A in Florida confirmed the sale of the Allen property, describing the transaction as amicable and noting that previous reports of litigation and evictions tied to the property were inaccurate.
Although the new ownership group’s plans have not yet been revealed, The HUB team expressed confidence in the property’s future.
“The exciting new ownership group brings deep expertise and capabilities to the property,” the company said. “Although detailed plans have not yet been publicly announced, the group intends to reopen the destination and deliver an exceptional experience for the city of Allen and surrounding communities.”
The sale applies only to the Allen property. The HUB’s holding company and operating business remain unchanged and continue pursuing other placemaking and experience-management projects.
A Short Run With A Big Community Impact
The Allen location opened in November 2022 as a much larger version of the original HUB concept near Seaside and Rosemary Beach, Florida. Spanning roughly three times the size of its predecessor, the venue combined restaurants, bars, entertainment and a large outdoor gathering space designed for families, friends and pets.
Over its four years in Allen, the company says more than half a million people visited the property.
Beyond food and entertainment, the venue hosted community events, including fundraisers for organizations such as ManeGait and Operation Once in a Lifetime, Toys for Tots collections with the U.S. Marine Corps, weekly meals for the Allen Eagles football team and dog adoption events that helped more than 400 dogs find homes.
Why The Venue Closed
When announcing the closure earlier this week, The HUB said the surrounding area developed differently than expected.
The company had anticipated significant residential and office growth around The Farm development. Instead, those projects progressed more slowly while nearly 30 restaurants opened within a mile of the property, creating a much more competitive dining market.
According to the company, it invested millions of dollars each year to keep the venue operating, support employees and continue community programming despite the financial challenges.
The HUB also said it has retained several employees and is working with local businesses to help connect former team members with new job opportunities as the property prepares for its next chapter.
