CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi is hosting the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas conference this week, bringing together agriculture educators and industry leaders from across the state.
The conference began Monday and runs through Friday at the Hilliard Center. The event focuses on innovative teaching strategies, updated curriculum and industry certifications.

Agriculture teachers are also earning professional education hours while building connections designed to strengthen agricultural education.
Ray Pieniazek, executive director of the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas, said the conference brings together thousands of educators and students involved in agricultural education across the state.
“We have a little over 300,000 ag students across the state with close to 2,600 teachers across the state. They teach anything from animal science, plant science, agricultural science. They are incorporating technology all the way from the shop to the classroom,” Pieniazek said.
The teachers will take what they learn back to their classrooms ahead of the upcoming school year.
