National Weather Service – Heat Advisory for San Antonio (July 23, 2026)
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The National Weather Service is extending a Heat Advisory for San Antonio and much of the I-35 Corridor for Thursday, and the area affected is expanding.
Unlike Wednesday, the entire Hill Country is being added to an area that will see daytime highs near or just above 100 degrees. This means a Heat Index of anywhere from 108 to 114 can be expected in the affected area through 8 p.m. Thursday.
Areas that fell in an Extreme Heat Warning on Wednesday, including Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth, have cooled just enough to fall in the same Heat Advisory issued for San Antonio and most of South Central Texas.
If you have to spend much time outside this afternoon, precautions are advised. These include staying hydrated, wearing loose-fitting and light-colored clothing, and taking breaks indoors with air conditioning as much as possible.
