The planned McDonald’s will include a 4,146-square-foot restaurant, a dual-lane drive-thru layout and new site work, according to state records. Construction is scheduled to begin December 7, with completion expected April 21, 2027, according to the filing. All TDLR filings are subject to change without notice.
The project carries an estimated construction cost of $750,000 and will be privately funded on private property, according to the filing.
The new location comes as New Braunfels continues to see a wave of restaurant expansion from some of the country’s biggest chains. The growing Texas city has recently welcomed or announced plans for brands including Portillo’s, CAVA and Chick-fil-A, adding to a changing fast-food and fast-casual landscape.
The continued interest from national restaurants follows years of population growth and commercial development across New Braunfels, which sits along the busy corridor between Austin and San Antonio. Developers have continued building new shopping centers, mixed-use projects and retail spaces to meet demand from new residents and visitors.
The planned McDonald’s would add another location to the company’s presence in the area as the city’s growth reshapes its dining scene.
