Livingstone entered the portal at the conclusion of the 2025 season after catching 29 balls for 516 yards and six touchdowns. When he committed to the Sooners, he suggested he did not want to leave the Longhorns, citing the “ever-changing landscape” of college athletics.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning said in April he was surprised by Livingstone’s move. While he would not do it himself, Manning nonetheless wished his former roommate best of luck — except for when they meet in Dallas Oct. 10 at the Cotton Bowl Stadium.
This year is expected to be a big one for UT and Manning, who is an early Heisman Trophy favorite after passing for 3,163 yards and recording 36 total touchdowns. Dynamic transfer wide receiver Cam Coleman replaces the void left by Livingstone. Meanwhile, the Lovejoy High School product gives Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer another deep threat to do damage with.
Sarkisian mentioned Livingstone, and others such as former receiver DeAndre Moore, among “salary cap” cuts that had to be done to attract new talent. Texas brought in more than a half-dozen top transfers including wideout Cam Colema
“At the end of the day, it’s competition,” Sarkisian said. “After the game, I’m sure I’ll give (Livingstone) a big hug. Before that, we’re trying to beat his (expletive).”
