COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Police have released the identity of the victim of the deadly Friday night stabbing in Colorado Springs.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), dispatch received a call at 11:52 p.m. regarding a disturbance in the 1400 block of North El Paso Street.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found one man and two women who all had stab wounds. They also found another man and a young child inside the home.
CSPD said the young child was not injured.
The three victims with stab wounds were taken to the hospital, where the man later died.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Raymundo Medina-Cabrera, 31.
Police said the two women were both treated for serious, life-threatening injuries. Their current conditions have not been released.
The second man in the house, identified as Matthew Regnier, 33, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries. He was later taken to the Police Operations Center for further investigation.
According to police, Regnier was later charged with first-degree murder, child abuse, and two counts of first-degree assault.
This is an ongoing investigation.
