Rockdale, Texas (KWTX) – Edward Wischan III, 41, of Killeen, was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital after a wreck during a high-speed chase in Milam County on Friday.
The Rockdale Police Department said that approximately 11:45 a.m., they received a request from the Milam County Sheriff’s Office to assist in locating an alleged suicidal man driving a 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup.
Rockdale police officers attempted contact with Wischan in the 300 block of E. Cameron Avenue, but he used his vehicle to flee east on Cameron Avenue, initiating a high-speed chase.
Wischan failed to control his speed and collided with the rear of another eastbound vehicle, Rockdale police said. This caused Wischan to lose control of his vehicle, cross the westbound lane and collide with a tree before coming to a stop in a wooded area in the 2200 block of East US Hwy 79.
No injuries were reported by the occupants of the second vehicle.
Rockdale police said Wischan faces criminal charges for evading arrest and detention using a Vehicle.
