Arlington police are currently investigating a fatal shooting at Highlander Boulevard and MLK Drive. No arrests have been made at this time.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Arlington police are engaged in an active investigation Friday night after a shooting left an individual dead near an intersection at the Arlington Highlands shopping center.
WFAA reporters are currently at the scene and are speaking to witnesses, who have told us that the incident leading to the shooting stemmed from two trucks that were next to each other at a stoplight near the Dave & Buster’s at the intersection of Highlander Boulevard and Martin Luther King Drive/Center Street in Arlington.

One witness tells WFAA that they saw a person in a red truck shoot a man in a blue truck. They say they heard five to six shots before the blue truck rolled forward and hit a tree. The witness also said they attempted to render aid to the victim. A short time later, an off-duty police officer at the Dave & Buster’s arrived, the witness said.
An Arlington Police Department spokesperson says their on-duty officers arrived at the scene around 8:40 p.m. and saw the truck that went off the road and the victim, described as an adult male, lying unresponsive. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
WFAA cameras showed Arlington police investigators looking over the shot truck, which displayed multiple gunshot holes in its side windows.
Arlington police tell WFAA that, at this time, no arrests have been made and that they plan to release more information formally when it is available, as soon as Saturday morning.
