KERRVILLE, Texas — Businesses in the Hill Country are now picking up the pieces as another flood hit the area.
Constance Wirth, the owner of Kerrville KOA Campground, said she hosted people who got washed out during the 2025 Fourth of July floods. She did it free of charge to help people in the area get back on their feet.
As you can imagine, she was not getting any revenue during that period of recovery.
Fast forward to the present, and yet another massive flood has come rolling in just as her business was still trying to recover from the last one.
“It [has] not been a good year…so going forward, you know, I’m not sure what it’s going to how people are going to hold up, you know,” said Wirth.
It’s still up in the air as to when her business will fully reopen. However, her recreational store is still up and running.
The lingering question on business owners’ minds in the area: will people want to come here to camp again after two terrible floods back-to-back, a year apart?
